How many times have you planned the most amazing leap? The leap that is going to take you to the next level.

You map it out.

You know exactly where you want to go.

You have complete buy in from your team.

And then you leap. You do the thing that you have worked towards. Your plan is finally in action stage. You stay up the night before half excited and half scared to death.

You take the leap. You fall flat on your face.

Here is where is all went wrong: We didn’t communicate with your team that this was leap day. We thought everyone knew it was time. We said how excited we were to be making this move, but did we ever formally communicate it?

Communication is key, and it is the ONE thing that has been my hardest lesson.

Don’t just say it.

Don’t just send it over Teams.

Put it on the calendar, send out an email BEFORE launch, make calls, send texts. Use every available communication method.

Over communicate!

All Saints Day

Tomorrow is All Saints Day in the liturgical calendar. It is a time to remember those who have passed this year and thank God for the time we had with them. Take a moment, remember, and be thankful. At our church we write their names on the altar cloth. It is a beautiful remembrance that carries over year after year. It is also a motivator to me to make every day count. While I plan to live to 100, I never know when my name will be added.
