Heavy With Hope
People are starting businesses, putting together corporate plans and books dreaming of a future that holds prosperity and time freedom. Just this week (as in - Monday alone) I had three clients reach out to form business entities.
I remember when I formed mine - Cody Hand, LLC. There was hope, but that hope was heavy. It wasn’t the best time to be starting a business, it wasn’t the ideal year nor the season as I have one about to start college. But the hope was real. It was palpable, and that tension between the heavy and the hope was necessary.
Hope alone doesn’t move mountains. Hope alone doesn’t create systems or revenue. The hope must be combined with the heavy. The heavy of mouths to feed, bills to pay, clients to recruit and then expectations to exceed.
But those three new business owners know this. When we talk about their hopes, I cannot help but talk about their heavy - the responsibility to keep up with the books, to adopt articles and operating agreements, to avoid the pitfalls of business ownership that people often come to me to discuss when it is too late.
We create estate plans because our hope, coupled with our heavy, has built a life we want to leave to the next generation.
So today, as I draft those business documents, I do so because this is the heavy that takes the hope into reality.
Are you ready to launch your business, start your C4, or crisis proof your life? Give me a shout and let’s get started!
I Miss My Team - why there is no ad today.
I am a fractional executive. For some clients I serve as their General Counsel. For others it is their COO. Part time work for businesses large enough to need the role, yet small enough to not need it full time. I love it.
But I miss leading a team.
I wrote a book about leading. The art of investing in someone’s dreams, helping a group of talented humans row in a direction we all determine is the way to go.
I established Cody Hand, LLC to lead myself. The next phase of that leadership is to assembly my own team, and that is taking the form of my executive coaching program. Capped at 5 executives, my 12 week intensive provides leaders who are either first time executives or new in their role the framework to discover their own unique leadership characteristics, harness the talents of each team member, and operationalize their style all leading to higher team satisfaction, lower turnover, and enhanced bottom lines.
Instead of using this space to generate income with a third party ad - I am coming to you with this humble request: If you know someone who leads people who will benefit from my program, please forward this on.
I am not going to lie and say that space is limited - because I still have five opening for the next cohort. But I am going to say that my program WILL change the lives of everyone involved. It changed mine.
This is my highest performing LinkedIn post this week - and there is no question why. Take a look.
This is a post my friend Rachel did that truly inspired me to leave something for those who come behind me.
and finally - here is the Facebook post I am most proud of this week.
