MAMA LOU ’ S SNOWBALLS

As long as I can remember, my grandmother made the best Christmas cookies. I know you think yours did - but you’re wrong. These are classic snowballs, and even though many of you have a variation, try this one.

What does this have to do with Speaking? Well - humans speak and humans should eat snowballs. So there.

Ingredients:

2 Sticks Butter, melted 4 Tablespoons powdered sugar (heap) plus more for rolling 2 Tablespoons vanilla 1 cup chopped pecans 2 cups all purpose flour 1 teaspoon water

  • 2 Sticks Butter, melted

  • 4 Tablespoons powdered sugar (heap) plus more for rolling

  • 2 Tablespoons vanilla

  • 1 cup chopped pecans

  • 2 cups all purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon water

  1. Mix melted butter, powdered sugar and vanilla.

  2. Stir in pecans and water.

  3. Mix flour until creamy, may not need all.

  4. With teaspoon, shape chilled dough into small ball, about the size of a ping pong ball.

  5. Chill for half an hour (Mama Lou whittled away at the chilled dough, I roll the balls and then chill them.)

  6. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F while chilling cookies.

  7. Bake for 12 minutes until golden brown

  8. Cool and roll in powdered sugar.
