Tying It All Together.

A Book, A TEDx, and a Practice

September was a busy month, and I could not have asked for a better one. On September 13, my TEDx talk went live. On September 15, my book Feed Your Team was released. Many of you attended the launch party, and we sold out of hard copies. More have been ordered (and you can still order on Amazon and Barnes & Noble!).

I could not have predicted what happened in September. When I pushed the book launch back from May, I did so on the advice of my marketing guru, though against my own will.

It was the best move I could have made. With everything happening in one week, it all came together seamlessly.

Can I have 30 seconds of your time?

All of this is not possible without your support. I KNEW I had to publish Feed Your Team and I KNEW that delivering a keynote on the topic was the next right thing. What I didn’t know was how much I needed your support and encouragement.

  • If you have half a minute, please head over to YouTube and interact (like/comment) with the talk.

  • If you have another half a minute, please head over to Amazon and leave my book a review. Even a star rating counts.

Moving on to 2027

Now that we are in Q4, it is time to set our sights on 2027. I coach for a very large travel agency. I have 79 travel agents on my team, and my goal is to provide them the resources and support to grow their own businesses.

This week I am working with all 79 to cast their visions for 2027. We are walking through the following questions:

  • What are you most proud of this year?

  • What have you learned this year?

  • What are your goals for 2027?

  • What resources would help you reach your goals in 2027?

  • Write a sentence that you want to be true at the end of 2027, in the present tense.

  • What is your stretch goal for 2027?

These questions are designed to produce two outcomes: activities we can measure, and the belief that I am not here to preach, but to resource.

How do you prepare for the next year?

Aside: I also work as a travel agent with the company, primarily because I want to coach from experience rather than philosophy, and I have come to enjoy it. Feel free to reach out if you want a logistics-minded lawyer and strategist to plan your next vacation. I have set a stretch goal to sell $2M in travel in 2027.

Bring Your Team an Estate Planning Seminar

Through it all, I am still practicing law. I have closed several estate plans this week alone, and the reaction is always the same: a sigh of relief and gratitude to have it done.

Chances are good that your team is full of humans who just haven't gotten to their estate plans yet. It tends to fall off the priority list as life gets busy, and rocket to the top when it is too late.

I am launching a new offering for team leads and business owners: host an estate planning seminar at your location for your team and customers. I will provide an hour-long presentation, including Q&A, on the different components of an estate plan and why it's worth getting done ASAP.

…and everyone in attendance will get 25% off their plan.

Talk about employee benefits!

Shoot me a reply, and let's get your employee seminar on the books.
